Nabu's Staff

Nabu, using his staff to cast a spell

Nabu's Staff is Nabu's magic weapon.

Overview

He used it to cast spells but also for combat purposes.

Appearance

It is a long, golden rod with a purple jewel on top. Just at the base of the jewel's platform to the top is a golden, single swirl.

"Magic, actually."

His first demonstration of the staff was aiding him in getting on and off the roof of the Museum of Magic. When a suspicious Tecna asks how he got on the roof as the museum is covered with guards, he twirls it and says, "magic, actually."

Season 4

Nabu proceeds to force the umbrellas open.

After the Wizards of the Black Circle had kidnapped Roxy, Klaus and Artu, Nabu helps his friends fight Ogron, Duman and Anagan on the beach near the Frutti Music Bar. Nabu used the end of his staff to force the beach umbrellas Ogron directed towards him to open. Then, Nabu, Sky and Aisha split up to deal with Ogron. When Nabu readies himself to attack Ogron the latter forcibly takes his staff, breaks it in half then drops it for Sky to slip on and fall off the train.

Nabu uses his staff to slice the vines.

Nabu does not use his staff again until the Earth Fairies are liberated. When Diana reclaimed Gardenia as a forest, she also restrained the Winx, minus Roxy, in extremely strong vines which restrict their powers. So strong, that not even Flora could get out. Nabu tells his friends to not use their energy because he will use his powers to loosen the vines' hold. He summons his staff, channels his powers through it then stabs it onto the ground. A powerful surge of magical energy loosens the vines and allows the girls to transform into their Believix.

The staff being used as a magical containment for the Black Circle at the cost of Nabu's life.

In the streets of Gardenia, everything is overrun by vegetation. A plant monster forms before him and his friends, Nabu shoos it away by blasting magical energy through his staff at its face.

He then goes to see Diana with the Specialists. He twirls his staff to slice off incoming vines and when talking to Diana failed, he begins using his staff to pin down her plant monsters. He is then forced to conjure a dome shield to protect himself from Diana's powers and could not help his friends. He is the last one standing while the Specialists are taken to Diana's kingdom.

In "The Wizards' Trap", Nabu uses his staff to defeat Duman. Later, Nabu uses his staff as a container for the energy of the Black Circle. Though successful, the task took a toll on him and he passes away. As his fiancée, friends and Earth Fairies surround his levitating body, the staff, which he had dropped, is returned to his side by Sky. After everyone says their quiet goodbyes, Nabu and his staff are transformed into flowers by Aisha then dispersed into the air by Fairy Queen Morgana.

The last time the staff appears is during a flashback as his friends mourn and come to terms with his passing.

• In the original version, Ogron had called it "a toy."
