From what I know, they were just an excuse for the Trix to be pulled out for the umpteenth time but, considering Frostbite, Kemmy and Occula's obvious color schemes and devious appearances, I wouldn't be too surprised if the Trix bonded with them while in the Legendarium. They're apparently the strongest Fairy Animals to ever exist, so who's to say Acheron didn't record such creatures in his book?

Ah... I want to summon whoever writes the scripts to get the answer... I hope we will have another season with TRUE new villains, and no Trix cameo ever again... The kind of dreadful, dangerous villains, not idiots...

It's sad that the Trix have become utter jokes after S2. These are the same girls who almost had a major planet within the Magic Dimension under their thumb! Even when working under Darkar, they were mostly unstoppable and rarely faced blunders thanks to their Gloomix. But come S3 and they act like lovestruck butt-monkeys, which apparently worked SO well that the writers did it again with Icy exclusively.

Even when they came back as major threats in S7, their reputation was already damaged beyond repair, not to mention how they had to be trapped again by the worst Deus ex Machina I've seen in the series.

Same thought here. Well, at least season 3 gave them some pretty suits (maybe just my POV) so it's not a total disaster to me.

I loved the earlier version of the Trix when they were feared, revered, and thought for themselves. They were the most feared witches in Magix City. From what I take from Kalshara’s comments, they are feared worldwide, but what we, the viewers, have seen has been constant imprisonment and pairing up with major villains. If the Trix return, which they inevitably will, I want them to stand completely alone. They tried to rebuild their rep in S6, and although Cloud Tower feared them, they still didn’t work alone. 9/10 times they’re partnering up with someone.

For other villains, I certainly agree. Give us someone like Darkar or the Ancestral Witches, or my fav: the Wizards of the Black Circle. Never again a comic relief like Brafillius.

Also, this is my first time hearing it, but I am loving the term "deus ex machina". It’s totally fitting.

From a storytelling standpoint, a Deus ex Machina is basically some unbeatable super-powered god-like thing that shows up to bail out the protagonists (mainly by completely eradicating what seemed like an unbeatable antagonist) seemingly out of nowhere. In the case of the Trix's latest appearance, they were actually close to winning again only to be completely entrapped by the random Swan of Infinity summoned by the Winx's Fairy Animals just to bail them out of what looked like an impossible situation.

While I actually enjoyed the Trix's return in S7 despite it being an obvious last-minute cop-out, that Swan of Infinity defeat was just atrocious.

Yeah, I researched the term after seeing your reply. Likewise for me, the overall finale/battle was a letdown. The Winx seemed weak and would’ve lost without the Swan of Infinity, as you mentioned. Totally random.
